Dear God,

No, the loving One not the one that talabangelists preach.  Yes, you Great Spirit, thank you so much for parents and kids like this.  It is so sad that we still live in a world where kids need to hear “It gets better”.  I was picked on for being “unpretty”, too tall, too smart, too create, overweight, naive.  My kids dealt with the same.  My son ended up transferring to a school in a town 10 miles away after being branded “At risk” for getting caught threatening the GIRL who had been making his life a living hell for 5 years.  My son had considered suicide as young a 9 years old because of her hateful words.  He won though.  He graduated from an arts high school and is doing very well in college as a music major. 

But bullies have been around since the beginning of time.  Humans are cruel beings who take some sick pleasure in demeaning their fellow man and then find some twisted way to prove that their “god” says it’s ok.  I pray that some day the “grown-ups” will actually let young people put some of their ideas.  Most of them are very open-minded, forgiving, and curious.  Too often we forget that the definition of insanity is using the same solution over and over to the same problem and expecting a different outcome.  We’re all different.  It’s time to get over our fears and learn to get along.

Ok, to say I am overwhelmed is to put it mildly. It has been quite a night at our house tonight.

The love and acceptance is breathtakingly beautiful, and I cannot even begin to express how lovely it has been to read everyone’s comments and messages.
